My strong interest in ornithology showed again in this latest criminal short story :)
In “Das Elsternzimmer” a young woman’s struggle cristallizes around a magpie and dissolve with the help this enigmatic raven bird.
“Das Elternzimmer” (“The magpie’s chamber”) appeared (so far only in German) in this year’s anthology “Finstere Abgründe” which will be launched during “Buch Berlin” fair next month.
For this anthology I have teamed up again with many of my author colleagues from the previous “teilweise tödlich”; and I am very, very happy with the result!
It’s a great book! I love the mixture of all our very different voices, styles, settings and atmospheres. And there is another continuity, too: if you read my both stories “Weißes Gold” and “Das Elsternzimmer” closely, you will find that something else sounds familiar…
I am planning to publish an English version and will be presenting a teaser here over the next months.
